I lecture and promote good healthy living. I am running for Whistler council because I know I have the leadership skills to help lead Whistler.  I believe we need to build a community built economic plan that has strategies in tourism, recreation and the arts (this is done).  When building the plan we need to consider the environmental impacts but the main focus is to make sure Whistler is livable for us - the citizens.  There are RMI funds to be discussed as part of this plan.  As a your former school trustee I know how to build a budget with no tax increases, negotiate contracts and create a focused direction for the organization that is built o core services. I am you 2011 Citizen of the Year from having participated in a wide variety of activities in leadership roles. I was on the OCP, Whistler 2020, Whistler Chamber of Commerce for 5 years, the treasurer for the Whistler Children's chorus, created the policy to allow Community coaches at our high school, worked hard to build flex ed at our high school, and founded the Whistler Youth Soccer club - just to mention a few of my community involvements. I lived in Europe for 6 years studying at the University of Brussels for my PhD.  I have traveled to Asia.  I understand other cultures.
